George PittasGeorge Pittas was born in Athens in 1954.He is a furniture designer and has carried out studies in political economy and sociology.
He has been a member of the boards of the Greek Chamber of Commerce and the Greek Chamber of Hotels and has been involved in a number of projects that aim to promote alternative forms of tourism and showcase the country's cultural heritage. Since 2010 he has been Head of the "Greek Breakfast" programme that is run by the Greek Chamber of Hotels and aims to link the country's hotel sector with the culinary traditions of each region. His travels in Greece have inspired him to write the following books: Signs of the Aegean (2007), Paros, a journey in time and space (2008), Athenian tavern (2009), Aegean festivities (2011), Greek coffee shops (2013), The weatlh of Greek gastronomy (2014) |
